Short version: Screen Recorder Studio does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything happens locally on your device, and the extension makes no network requests.
Screen Recorder Studio lets you record your screen — an entire display, a single window, or one browser tab — optionally together with system/tab audio and a microphone, and save the resulting video file to your own computer. Recording and saving screen video locally is its only purpose.
None. The extension does not collect, log, or transmit any personal or usage data. It contains no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, no trackers, and no third-party SDKs. It communicates with no external servers and works fully offline.
Recordings are created and processed entirely on your device by your browser. They are saved either to a folder you explicitly choose or via a regular browser download. Your recordings are never uploaded, transmitted, or made accessible to us or to any third party.
If you choose a destination folder for automatic saving, the extension stores a reference to that folder (a File System Access directory handle) in your browser's local IndexedDB on your device. This is done solely to remember your chosen folder between sessions so you don't have to pick it every time. This information never leaves your device and is removed if you clear the extension's site data.
The extension requests no special Chrome permissions. It does not read your browsing history, the contents of your other tabs, your bookmarks, or your cookies. Screen and microphone capture only ever begin after you click "Start" and grant access through your browser's own permission prompt. You remain in full control and can stop sharing at any time.
We do not share data with third parties, because we do not collect any. There are no advertising networks, analytics providers, or external services involved.
The extension is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
